Trevor Nicholls

Trevor started his career at the Connaught Theatre, Worthing in 1986, making tea and sweeping the stage and then in 1988 trained for three years at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London as an actor.

Upon leaving the academy he was engaged as an understudy in a national tour of ‘One for the Road’ learning from its three established stars; Gareth Hunt, Ian Lavender and Robin Askwith on how to remember lines and not to bump into the furniture.

He went on to play a manic rabbit in a national tour of ‘Winnie the Pooh’ and then played two tours of ‘A Christmas Carol’, the first playing mulitiple roles at The Chichester Festival Theatre and then on tour. The second playing the role of Fred Scrooge at The Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London.

Trevor has performed in ‘An Evening with Gary Lineker’ as Gary Lineker in the West End and on tour, has played the Narrator and Werewolf Hunter in the premiere tour of ‘The Company of Wolves’; he’s also played the serial killer; Tom Ripley in ‘The Talented Mr Ripley’ in his resident city of Brighton at the Pavilion Theatre.

Trevor Nicholls has been involved in various Pantomimes over the years playing both Sultans and Demon Kings and has, together with his long time friend Stephen Holroyd, penned a version of the classic story ‘Aladdin’, which was staged at the Madinat Theatre in Dubai making it the first professional pantomime show to be performed there. During that production he also played the villain ‘Abanazer’ alongside Paul Arden-Griffith under the careful direction of Stephen Holroyd. Luckily neither actor upstaged each other, and the conception of ‘Make It So’ was formed.

This was his second time, being part of a theatre production overseas having voiced previously ‘Shere Khan’ in the guise of Sean Connery (known throughout the world as the original 007) which was carried out for Stephen Holroyd’s production of ‘The Jungle Book’.

Trevor has worked extensively all over the world as both Quiz Master and Professional Presenter of exhibitions and conferences for PPSI an International Communications company, also voicing training films and presenting stage performances for the company.

When otherwise not occupied he teaches both speech, drama and stage fighting at a stage school and promotes drama and history through the enactment of a mean moody Victorian Butler ‘Mr. Elphick’ at Preston Manor Museum, Brighton. Most recently his services have been required to rewrite the scripts for the museum’s enactment of a Victorian household. He also helps with education outreach projects by directing drama festivals for the young community of Brighton in his spare time.
